It’s hard to believe that The Style Edit is already celebrating it’s first birthday. I guess it’s true what they say – time flies when you’re having fun. Between our launch event with Debbie Le of The Fashionable Pan, celebrity followers (we see you Paris Hilton) and the opportunities we’ve had to meet and interview so many inspiring entrepreneurs, a lot of fun has been had. With that said, there’s also been a lot of work behind-the-scenes to make The Style Edit the success it continues to be.
For founder and editor-in-chief, Jennifer Taggart, launching The Style Edit was part of a life-long dream of starting her own magazine. With a shift in the industry to embrace the digital generation, Jennifer seized the opportunity to launch The Style Edit as an online magazine as opposed to print. She felt that while there were many successful fashion and lifestyle magazines out there, none of them ticked all of the boxes in terms of topics she was interested in and passionate about. Nowhere was there a balance between street style fashion content and giving women in business the platform they deserve. From there Jennifer set out on her mission to build a platform of positivity, celebrating fashion through all of its mediums – beauty, travel, interiors, career, wellness and so much more – and committed to a policy of only publishing empowering content.
And what a mission it’s been. Over the course of the last year, The Style Edit has built a team of contributors from all over the world, each bringing to the table a breadth of knowledge and experience in their field. We’ve had our work acknowledged by various awards organisations, both on shortlists and as successful winners in our categories and we’ve increased our following by ten-fold in the space of a year. We’ve built exciting plans and set goals to make The Style Edit even bigger and better in years to come and we’ve continued to build on the passion that Jenny launched the business with last year.
“I am extremely proud of what we have achieved as a team in 12 short months. To win two major blogging awards and hit the 10K milestone on Instagram makes all the hard work worthwhile. Working on and developing this magazine is my passion and even though it requires a lot of dedication and consistency, I wouldn’t want to do anything else. We have big dreams for The Style Edit and I cant wait to share them with you all over the coming months!.” – Jennifer Taggart, Founder and Editor-in-Chief of The Style Edit.
