Kensington Palace confirmed the news this afternoon (April 23) that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have welcomed their third child, a baby boy.
The announcement graced Twitter feeds everywhere revealing the baby’s healthy 8lbs 7oz weight along with the time of his arrival at 11:01 this morning.
Like his siblings before him, the newborn was delivered at the Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington with the birth being announced on an easel in the forecourt of Buckingham Palace, as is tradition.
Then shortly before 6pm the proud parents emerged from the hospital to introduce their new arrival to the world. His older siblings were not present but it is reported they had already met their new baby brother earlier this afternoon accompanied by dad, William.
Kate showed no evidence of just having given birth looking every each the radiant yummy mummy in a Jenny Peckham shift dress – the same brand she chose to wear after both Prince George and Princess Charlotte’s births.
No name has been announced as yet but speculation as to the new Prince’s moniker has been rife ever since it was announced back in September that Kate has expecting for a third time. Top predictions for the new royal baby include Arthur, Albert, Frederick, James and Philip according to the bookmakers. Richard and Peter are outsiders at 40/1 and 33/1 respectively.
The new arrival, the Queen’s sixth grandchild, holds status as fifth in line to the throne, making Prince Harry now sixth.
